Privacy Policy

Future You ("Future You", "we", "us") operates the Future You mobile app and website at futureyou.cc (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

  • Account information: email address, password (stored hashed), display name, and phone number (used to call you).
  • Voice sample: a short audio recording you provide during onboarding, used to clone your voice via our voice-synthesis partner.
  • Goals and journal content: goals, habits, mood ratings, written reflections, and any other content you enter.
  • Communications: messages you send to support and feedback you submit in-app.

1.2 Information generated by your use of the Service

  • Call recordings and transcripts: audio and text transcripts of the AI calls between you and your Future Self.
  • Cloned-voice identifier: a reference ID returned by our voice-synthesis partner that points to your cloned voice model.
  • Usage data: session timing, screens visited, feature interactions, device type, OS version, app version.
  • Crash and error reports: stack traces and device context, used to diagnose bugs.

1.3 Information from third parties

  • Subscription status: if you subscribe, our payments partner provides us with your subscription tier, renewal status, and (in some cases) anonymized purchase identifiers. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
  • Sign-in providers: if you sign in with Google, we receive your email, name, and profile photo from Google.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and operate your account.
  • To generate your cloned voice and use it to place AI coaching calls back to you.
  • To remember context across calls so your Future Self can reference past conversations, goals, and progress.
  • To process subscriptions and prevent fraudulent purchases.
  • To send service-related communications (e.g. call reminders).
  • To analyze usage in aggregate so we can improve the Service. We do not sell aggregated data.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. AI Processing

Future You uses third-party AI services to clone your voice, generate the coaching dialogue, and transcribe audio. When you use the Service:

  • Your voice sample is sent to a voice-cloning provider (currently ElevenLabs) to create a synthetic voice model trained on your sample.
  • The text of each call is generated by a large language model (currently OpenAI's GPT models). The model receives your goals, relevant memories from prior calls, and the conversation in progress.
  • Call audio is transmitted via a telephony provider (currently Twilio) and is recorded so it can be transcribed and so your Future Self can reference it in later calls.

These providers process your data under their own privacy policies and their data-processing agreements with us. We do not authorize them to use your data to train their general-purpose models.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share personal information only with:

  • Service providers who operate the Service on our behalf, including: Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), ElevenLabs (voice cloning and synthesis), OpenAI (text generation and transcription), Twilio (placing and recording phone calls), RevenueCat and Apple (subscription billing), Sentry (error reporting), and our hosting/email providers. Each is bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal authorities when required to comply with a subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process, or to protect the safety of users or the public.
  • Successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business — in which case we will notify you and your data will remain subject to this Policy or a successor policy at least as protective.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your cloned voice, call recordings, or journal content with third parties for advertising.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account, voice model, goals, and call history for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your cloned-voice model with our voice-synthesis provider and purge your personal data from our systems within 30 days, except where we are required to keep records for legal, accounting, or fraud- prevention purposes.

6. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access and export: you can request a copy of your data from within the app (Settings → Account → Export my data) or by emailing us.
  • Correction: you can edit your name, email, phone number, goals, and other profile data from Settings.
  • Deletion: you can delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete account. This is irreversible.
  • Marketing opt-out: you can unsubscribe from non- essential email at any time via the link in any marketing email.
  • Regional rights: if you are in the EEA, UK, California, or another region with applicable privacy laws, you may have additional rights (including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority). Contact us to exercise these rights.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest for stored files, and standard access controls. No system is perfectly secure; you use the Service at your own risk. If we learn of a security breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

8. Children

Future You is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. International Transfers

Our service providers may store and process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards to protect cross-border transfers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. If we make material changes, we will notify you in-app or by email. The "Effective" date above always reflects the current version.
